Biography

I’m Dean Gunther, a color realism and surrealism tattoo artist from Cape Town, South Africa. I began tattooing in 2008, self-taught, and moved to the UK in 2017 to grow as an artist. That move pushed me to give up drinking, focus on painting, and sharpen my understanding of color theory.

Today, I run Final Chapter Tattoos in Hyde, Greater Manchester, and a private studio in Ashton-under-Lyne. I only take on projects I can fully commit to, giving each tattoo the creativity and passion it deserves.

Over the years, I’ve won multiple awards at international tattoo conventions, traveled to guest spots, and shared my knowledge through seminars and The Atelier, my tattoo foundation course. My work has been featured in leading tattoo magazines worldwide. Beyond tattooing, I host The Dean Gunther Podcast, where I sit down with fighters, artists, authors, and other inspiring people to share raw stories about life and art.
