I have never seen a barb on these needle cartridges when inspecting them prior to my work; the spacing is consistant from one cartridge to the next. The opening in the cartridge where the needles come out is designed differently than others I've used, so it may take some adjusting. The design for storing and releasing ink is better than the Cheyenne carts I have because I don't have to dip these as often.
